At Great Dane Rescue & Adoption Texas, our mission is to rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment, ensuring each dog receives the medical care, rehabilitation, and compassion they need to heal and thrive. Through our foster‑based program, every Dane is given time, structure, and love while we prepare them for placement in a permanent, qualified home where they can enjoy the life they deserve.

💚 Preventing Suffering Before It Begins
Beyond rescue and rehabilitation, we work to stop suffering at the source. As resources allow, we assist owners with spay/neuter services and heartworm treatment. Education is central to our mission — we provide guidance on vaccinations, nutrition, training, and responsible ownership, while advocating against backyard breeding. By collaborating with fellow rescues and breed clubs, we strengthen the united effort to protect Great Danes everywhere.
Since 2013, we have dedicated our hearts, homes, and resources to saving these misunderstood gentle giants. Though large in size, they are deeply sensitive souls who deserve dignity, safety, and unwavering advocacy.

Rescue & Rehabilitation
We save Great Danes and Dane mixes from neglect, abandonment, and crisis situations, providing safe, structured environments where they can decompress and begin again.
Comprehensive Medical Care
Every dog receives the veterinary care they need — vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, heartworm treatment, and microchipping.
Training & Socialization
Through structure, positive reinforcement, and real‑world socialization, we prepare Danes to transition successfully into permanent homes.
Foster‑Based Care
Our dogs live in loving foster homes — not kennels — where they are treated like family while we learn their personalities and needs.
Thoughtful Placement
We carefully match each Dane with adopters who can provide lifelong safety, stability, and commitment.
(On average, we invest $600 per dog — often more for those requiring medical or behavioral rehabilitation. Donations and adoption support make this possible.)
